"What's the Right Age for a Child to get a Cell Phone?"--new article from the New York Times

This article by Brian Chen in the New York Times Tech Fix Section lays out some interesting research and recommendations on children and cell phones.

I'd encourage you to take a few minutes to read the article. As technology becomes more integrated into our children's lives, we often find ourselves in uncharted territories. Research and experience is building and new recommendations point to the need for parents to be thoughtful about the decision and the potential pros and cons of the impact of a phone on your child.
